Love Poetry From a Phenomenal Woman

We deserve love poetry honoring ourselves

Today I want to talk about love of ourselves and all of the subtle ways that we express ourselves as women.

When we acknowledge and embrace our grace and beauty as a woman, men notice and appreciate that which we appreciate in ourselves. I cannot write it any better than described in Maya Angelou’s poem called Phenomenal Woman. Here’s a brief excerpt but the entire poem is worth reading at http://budurl.com/loveallme

Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Angelou captures the essence of what it means to be a self-loving woman who realizes her energy and confidence are the most attractive features a woman can have. By energy, I mean the palpable impression she exudes that states quietly, but out loud, that she knows who she is, what she wants, and what she has to offer to the world. She doesn’t need the approval of a man or anyone else to validate her; nor does she need to assert who she is, as it’s very clear. Men find that gentle energy to be the sexiest and most powerfully feminine attribute a woman can possess.

Do Love and Life Differently: Every day in every way, think of yourself as a phenomenal woman in all your glory and the subtle substance that radiates from you. He will find you.

What has your experience been with your own energy or someone you know?
