Find True Love by Feeling Your Way

Can I find true love with a list?

Often women tell me they know exactly what they want in a man

and won’t settle for anything less to find true love. They’ve written out a list of qualities that they must have and sometimes include things they don’t want—the absolute deal breakers. In my opinion, making a list of qualities you want in a man is like making a grocery shopping list without having a recipe for what you want to cook. Let’s see, I’ll buy onions, pickles, tomato sauce, chocolate chips, eggs, Tabasco, and cottage cheese. I like all of those foods, BUT if I threw them all together in a pan and baked it in the oven, I doubt anyone would want to eat it! Let me clarify what I’m saying with the following examples of a good man-list gone bad when it comes to the relationship recipe. (more…)

How to Get a Guy From Bad Breakups

Often you've got to kiss a lot of candidates to get a guy who's right for you

It’s true. We usually do get better from the lessons we learn in how to get a guy who’s right for us long term.

I prefer not to think of my past numerous relationships as mistakes. As this article from Oprah.com “Love Lessons from Bad Breakups” points out, not only does our judgment improve in men, but we learn more about what we want and have to offer to a relationship. Prior to making the commitment to get married, the 34-year old author of this article decided to schedule dates with four of her previous boyfriends starting from her teens. Find True Love Who’s Playing for Keeps

Oh geez, sorry. I didn't find true love with you.

Here I go again, but I’m hopelessly addicted to the wacky The Bachelor/ Bachelorette TV show.

The latest is they’re bringing back the much-bashed bachelor, Brad Womack. If you’re a fan, you may remember the Texas bar owner hottie from two years ago. He shocked America by breaking the hearts of the last two women remaining in the finale and rejected them both!

I couldn’t believe the public’s reaction, calling him the most hated man in America. He literally had to stop dating and go into virtual hiding to avoid the humiliating lambasting. However, today he claims he’ll definitely find a wife on the show. Talk about pressure to perform — is this any way to find true love? Can’t wait to find out! (more…)

How to Get a Man Who Lasts a Lifetime

Would you want to get a man with a lifetime rail pass?

“Is love supposed to last throughout all time, or is it like trains changing at random stops. If I loved her, how could I leave her? If I felt that way then, how come I don’t feel anything now?” ~Melvin, Jeff

Do you ever wonder where love goes when it vanishes from you or from the man you believed was going to be yours forever?

Like the Melvin quote above, I’ve tussled with the question of what happens to love. Was it truly love or was it infatuation, lust, or perhaps desperate neediness? Melvin also pleads the question of whether love is meant to be forever. You’ve probably heard the saying, we’re like ships passing in the night, which I interpret to have a similar meaning – that romantic love is a passing thing.

Does True Love Last Forever?

For some women, this must be depressing to read when you’re trying to figure out how to get a man who lasts a lifetime. Personally I believe true love lasts forever, regardless of whether it’s romantic love, friendship love, parental love, or sibling love. (more…)

The Love of My Life Ain’t A Hearts & Flowers Guy

The man of my dreams has swagger

Hm..Hm..Hm. Some of us sure love a rugged man.

You know, the kind of guy with a working man’s hands, doesn’t mind getting dirty, maybe a little on the wild side. Then there’s the guy who’s cool, intriguing with a bit of swagger about him; and don’t let me forget the unpredictable, untamed guy who marches to the beat of his own drum. Oh! And what about the strong, silent type that you love to watch working with a jack hammer or scaling a tall building. I’ve dated all of them. Hahaha!…Yeah, really.

The love of my life loves me & his tractor

I went a bit overboard with photo images in this post because I realized how many different types of men there are out there, and there’s no way I could have typecast all of them. Today I was thinking about all the great guys out there that a woman could call the love of my life. What I realized is that a lot of these ruggedly intriguing, swaggering men aren’t the hearts-and-flowers kind of guys. And that’s okay. (more…)
