Maybe It Isn’t About Mr. Right At All

Could I be resisting my Mr. Right?

So many people say all the good men are taken that lots of women have come to believe there is no Mr. Right for them.

Then they can go on to bash all the men they manage to date who fail their standards. Which of course becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. If this resonates with you at all, I have a radical idea for you. What if you flipped your mind around and allowed the possibility that there ARE plenty of good men still out there. And further—what if you considered whether or not the problem could lie with you. (more…)

Where the Heck Do I Find My Soulmate?

I really want to find my soulmate

I just finished reading Patty Stanger’s book called Become Your Own Matchmaker.

Stanger is best known as the Millionaire Matchmaker with a popular television show by that name. While her TV persona is somewhat brazen and raunchy, she comes off more empathetic and kinder in her book. I think she’s pretty sharp and gives great advice to women who come to her with the recurrent request to help me find my soulmate.

Stanger has good suggestions for places to seek out the coveted soulmate,

some of which are highlighted below. I can only give you part of the list without her permission. (more…)

Find True Love Who’s Playing for Keeps

Oh geez, sorry. I didn't find true love with you.

Here I go again, but I’m hopelessly addicted to the wacky The Bachelor/ Bachelorette TV show.

The latest is they’re bringing back the much-bashed bachelor, Brad Womack. If you’re a fan, you may remember the Texas bar owner hottie from two years ago. He shocked America by breaking the hearts of the last two women remaining in the finale and rejected them both!

I couldn’t believe the public’s reaction, calling him the most hated man in America. He literally had to stop dating and go into virtual hiding to avoid the humiliating lambasting. However, today he claims he’ll definitely find a wife on the show. Talk about pressure to perform — is this any way to find true love? Can’t wait to find out! (more…)

Love Poetry Then and Now

I choose you as the man of my dreams

A poetic bug bit me today and reminded me of the way romance and partnering has changed over the past 50 years.

Bear with me as I have a little fun with my own version of love poetry describing the past versus the present.

Sometimes even corny love poetry speaks louder than spoken words can express. Hopefully mine does!

How to Get a Man Who Lasts a Lifetime

Would you want to get a man with a lifetime rail pass?

“Is love supposed to last throughout all time, or is it like trains changing at random stops. If I loved her, how could I leave her? If I felt that way then, how come I don’t feel anything now?” ~Melvin, Jeff

Do you ever wonder where love goes when it vanishes from you or from the man you believed was going to be yours forever?

Like the Melvin quote above, I’ve tussled with the question of what happens to love. Was it truly love or was it infatuation, lust, or perhaps desperate neediness? Melvin also pleads the question of whether love is meant to be forever. You’ve probably heard the saying, we’re like ships passing in the night, which I interpret to have a similar meaning – that romantic love is a passing thing.

Does True Love Last Forever?

For some women, this must be depressing to read when you’re trying to figure out how to get a man who lasts a lifetime. Personally I believe true love lasts forever, regardless of whether it’s romantic love, friendship love, parental love, or sibling love. (more…)
